Cicada (fka Siril) from Brussels mixes up-tempo guitars and drums with psychedelic lyrics, Cicada brings garage indie.
After releasing three songs (Numblocked, Fall and Welkenraedt) in 2021 Cedric Vaessen formed a new group (with Julien Tanghe of JAKOMO and Siel Van Puyenbroeck of The Pink Lemons) called Cicada. They are currently working together with NYC based Sean Michael Raab (Fat Trout Trailer Park, Wooly Mammoths) on new work to be released in spring of 2025.

from bxl with love, CICADA brings garage, indie, and punk with a deliberate lack of nostalgia, favoring distortion, repetition, and unease over comfort.
CICADA, formed in brussels around frontdrummer cedric vaessen, will release it's debut single and eponymous ep titled 'the river' in 2025. for this they worked together with NYC based sean michael raab. a series of four songs which will be released from mid-may on. the band will play concerts presenting it's EP from june on, in brussels and antwerp.
