Heinäkuiseen kesäiltaan letkeitä soudeja tarjoilee Jukka Poika!
Kun nuori Jukka kuunteli reggaeta ensimmäisen kerran kaverinsa tukkoiselta c-kasetilta, kyseessä oli Max Romeon albumi "War inna Babylon" ja tietämättään Jukka oli törmännyt musiikinlajiin, josta muodostuisi hänelle tulevien vuosikymmenten elämäntehtävä.
Alkujaan englanninkielisestä lukiobändistä melkoiseksi millenium-ilmiöksi kehkeytyneen Soul Captain Bandin ja nenäkkään Kapteeni Ä-ni-duon jälkeen Jukka ryhtyi sooloartistiksi. 2010-luvulla nähtiin topakka hittiputki biiseistä kuten "Mielihyvää", "Kylmästä lämpimään", "Silkkii" ja "Älä tyri nyt". Breikkausvuosien haipista kertoo jotain se, että v. 2012 Maailma kylässä- tapahtumaan Jukka Poika-konserttiin Kaisaniemen puistoon ahtautui 20 000 ihmistä. Seuraavana vuonna Jukka nähtiin Vain elämää-ohjelman toisella tuotantokaudella.
Jukka on jatkanut ahkeraa keikkailua niin pitkäaikaisen kumppaninsa LemppariDJ Stormyn kuin Lempparibändi-livekokoonpanon kanssa.
Viime vuosina on julkaistu hittejä kuten "Papaija", "Haituvat" ja "Souda kesämies". Vain elämää- ohjelmassa Jukka kävi toistamiseen v. - 21. "Reggaen saundi ja musiikillinen kieli ovat minulle edelleen inspiraatio", sanoo Jukka. "Minua kiehtoo koko paketti: soittaminen, laulaminen, kirjoittaminen, tuotanto, äänittäminen, dub-miksaus. Voi modernisti sekoittaa tyylejä tai nojata perinteeseen. Livessä puolestaan on kyse flowsta ja läsnäolosta. Reggae on hauskaa ja vakavaa, ryhdikästä ja letkeää yhtä aikaa."

Jukka Poika Biography
Jukka Poika (Jukka Rousu, born 1981) took his stance as the most widely known finnish reggae vocalist and song writer in 1999-2002. During that time his lyrical and vocal charisma lead both his collaborations (Soul Captain Band, Kapteeni Ä-ni) into success. Since 2003 he has participated in various projects and released five reggae albums, plus an album tributing the folk genius Veikko Lavi.
Jukka’s voice cannot be separated from his message. Musically he has stunned the finnish music audience from his very first performances together with creative reggae musicians of Soul Captain Band and other friends. He embraces a combination of various reggae styles, dub, and folk rhythms, positively loaded roots reggae with minimal decorations being the central approach.
Jukka knows where the world is now and what is needed. Singing with devotion, sincerity and deep realization he has proved in the long term what he really is: a contemporary visionary and a sage. In his message there is all: cultural criticism, humour, feminism, spiritual truth, health advice, comfort for the mislead, prophecy and wisdom, plain everyday living and a joyful appreciation of the One Life behind this world.
