Ariane Racicot

Ariane Racicot est une pianiste et compositrice de jazz montréalaise qui fusionne avec les styles métal, latin et classique pour créer un style unique. 

Elle s’est d’abord fait connaître suite au succès de son interprétation de Bohemian Rhapsody sur Youtube en 2013. La vidéo cumule plus de 18 millions de visionnements à ce jour.
 
Ariane commence d’abord sa formation en piano classique à l’âge de 6 ans, jusqu’à ce qu’elle décide de bifurquer vers le jazz dix ans plus tard. Elle poursuit ses études au Cégep St-Laurent, à l’Université de Montréal, puis à McGill sous la direction de Lorraine Desmarais, Luc Beaugrand, John Roney et Jean-Michel Pilc. 
 
En 2019, elle fonde son propre trio avec Antoine Rochefort à la basse électrique et Guillaume Picard à la batterie, d'où naîtra la réalisation de son premier album, Envolée, paru le 6 mai 2022 sous l'étiquette Multiple Chord Music. Sacrée Révélation Jazz Radio-Canada 2022-2023, Ariane a été invitée à faire la première partie de Wynton Marsalis et le Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra au Festival International de Jazz de Montréal. 
 
Depuis, Ariane se produit dans les festivals, les centres culturels, théâtres et clubs de jazz au Québec et en Ontario, de plus en plus à guichets fermés. Elle a été invitée à faire la première partie de John Scofield au Festival Québec Jazz en Juin 2023, puis s'est également fait offrir carte blanche au Domaine Forget, où elle a profité de l'occasion pour inviter deux sommités du jazz canadien, soit Christine Jensen et Paul Brochu (Uzeb) pour jouer sa musique. Poursuivant la tournée de son premier album deux ans après la sortie, Ariane change de trio pour un soir en invitant les illustres Rémi-Jean Leblanc et Robbie Kuster à jouer ses compositions au Dièse Onze Jazz Club à Montréal en juin 2024.
 
Bien active sur les réseaux sociaux, Ariane possède plus de 22 000 abonnés sur sa chaîne Youtube, où l’on peut retrouver plusieurs compositions et interprétations de jazz.
 
Ariane a un jeu qui s’inspire de celui d’Hiromi Uehara, de Tigran Hamasyan, de Chick Corea et de Keith Jarrett. Très passionnée sur scène, elle captive l’audience par son émotivité, son énergie enflammée et sa générosité avec le public. 

Ariane sortira son deuxième album intitulé  « Danser avec le feu » le 21 février 2025.

Ariane Racicot is a Montreal-based jazz pianist and composer who incorporates elements of classical, latin and metal music, creating her unique style. 

She first rose to prominence following the success of her rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody on Youtube in 2013. The video has reached up over 18 million views to date.
 
Ariane began her training as a classical pianist at the age of 6, before switching to jazz ten years later. She then went on to study at Cégep St-Laurent, University of Montreal and McGill, where she trained with Lorraine Desmarais, Luc Beaugrand, John Roney and Jean-Michel Pilc. 
 
In 2019, she founded her own trio with Antoine Rochefort on the electric bass and Guillaume Picard on the drums, which led to the release in May 2022 of her first album, Envolée, on the Multiple Chord Music label. Awarded Révélation Jazz Radio-Canada 2022-2023, Ariane was invited to open for Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra at the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal the following month.
 
Since then, Ariane has performed in festivals, cultural centers, theaters and jazz clubs in Quebec and Ontario, increasingly sold out. She did the opening act for John Scofield at the Quebec Jazz Festival in June 2023, and was also offered carte blanche at Domaine Forget, where she took the opportunity to invite the great saxophonist Christine Jensen and drummer Paul Brochu (Uzeb) to play her music. Still touring with her first album two years after its release, Ariane changes trio for one evening by inviting Rémi-Jean Leblanc at the electric bass and Robbie Kuster on drums to play her compositions at the Dièse Onze Jazz Club in Montreal in June 2024.
 
Very active on social networks, Ariane has more than 22,000 subscribers on her Youtube channel, where we can find several jazz compositions and interpretations.

Ariane is now coming with a brand new album called "Danser avec le feu » on February 21th.
