Freddie Lewis Biography
Freddie Lewis, a rising trans artist from Bristol, has spent the past three years making a name for himself within the UK queer scene. His music uses thought-provoking lyricism, infectious hooks, and genuine emotion, drawing from jazz, soul, indie and electronic influences to make his own signature brand of pop.
Since his debut single 'Growing Pains' in 2021, Freddie has received widespread support from the LGBTQ+ community in the UK, as well as being featured on BBC Radio 1 and Radio 6 Music, Spotify’s ‘New Music Friday UK’, ‘Fresh Finds’ and ‘Our Generation’ playlists and earning a spot as a cover artist on Spotify's 'Transcend' playlist for four months. He has also been featured in Pink News, Bristol 24/7 and BBC News, as well as recently being featured as a BBC Introducing Spotlight Artist.
Known for uplifting and emotive performances, including renowned festivals like The Great Escape and Glastonbury, Freddie has performed at Pride festivals across the country, and was chosen as the first Trans man on the prestigious artist development programme, Keychange, in 2023. In 2024, he released his A-side B-side release, ‘Sundays’ to widespread support, followed by his first full-band headline tour across the UK with support from PRS Open Fund for Music Creators. For the tour, Freddie hosted his very own cabaret in each city, inviting local guests to perform drag and burlesque, interspersing the night and headlining with his full-band performance, to widespread support including a sold-out opening night in London.
This year, Freddie has released three singles, with support from BBC Introducing and Spotify Editorial playlists ‘Our Generation’, ‘New Pop UK’, 'Fresh Finds' and others.
