Amsterdam’s Gallamesh throws hardcore punk, modern death metal and metalcore into the blender and serves it up with brutal riffs à la Chimaira, the intensity of Lamb of God and the chugs of Kublai Khan TX. After their debut EP ‘Conditioned Pt. 1’, the band is back with part two: even more clumsy, even smarter, even more direct. ‘Conditioned Pt. 2’ (out on June 6 via Suburban Records) is full of aggression and adrenaline, but also allows for unexpected moments of clarity. On the title track, the band questions the social patterns in which we are stuck—what is ours and what has been talked into us? First single Lotus is a structured chaos with Dillinger Escape Plan vibes and a grim twist: a declaration of love from the mouth of an addict, lost in a relationship with his machine. The EP was recorded in the DIY studio of guitarist Jeroen van der Lee, with drums and mastering by Daan Nieboer (SWANSLAUGHTER). Expect a bigger sound with alternating between heavy riffs, clean vocals and even hip-hop influences.
