Singing for and with Australia audiences with heartfelt gratitude and recognition, promoting unity with all people and all of creation Karen presents Karen Knowles In Concert - Songs & Stories of Australia. For this one night only event in Pomona Karen will be joined by the wonderful instrumentalist and harmonica player Justin Brady as her special guest. Justin is most well known for being a significant band member in the ARIA award winning band Things of Stone and Wood and has collaborated with Karen for many years originally performing as part of the Big River cast and later featuring on television performances on Hey Hey it's Saturday, the Bert Newton Show and on some of Karen's studio recordings so Karen is very glad to have Justin join her for this special show to add another dynamic element in telling our shared stories through music.Karen has sung The Seekers repertoire extensively when touring with The Seekers as their lead singer in the early 1990s and has been singing Olivia’s music since her early teens on television. Through Karen’s work with reconciliation since the early 1990s she has sung I am Australian at various national events and was personally very moved by Archie Roach’s musical expression of connection to country especially in his latest work where he sings about all of us being born of One Song. Karen very much enjoys travelling and connecting to country when touring and some of her own compositions included in this show were written during such inspired times (as featured on her 7th and 8th studio albums Solid Ground & Sanctuary).
In this specially curated concert that celebrates what it means to be Australian Karen will perform I Honestly Love you, Let Me Be There; I’ll Never Find Another You, Morningtown Ride, Carnival Is Over; Under the Milky Way Tonight as well as Archie Roach’s gems Native Born and One Song and Karen’s own compositions Falling into You, Shipwreck and Solid Ground.
