About this concert
I'm playing a set at the 2025 Flagstaff Folk Festival. I'll be in the Gregg Cabin from 3:30 to 3:55 PM.
Earlier that day, at 12:30 PM, I'm giving a dual workshop on house concerts and songwriting. Look for that event.

Matthew Moran Biography
A Southern California native, I've been playing guitar since my father pushed me away from his banjo and told me to learn how to tune our Guild classical (which I still own) and learn three chords. I started writing mostly lousy songs at about 14. Thank God, they've improved over time.
I'll come back to this bio but here is what Music Connection Magazine said a few years back.
---
"Americana and country that curve in and out of the rock and roll realm. Moran’s music is sweet, in tune, and hip in nature. A little Paul Simon combined with a bit of Hootie and the Blowfish comes across quite well with the band’s Simon and Garfunkel-like choruses. Moran’s material encompasses everything from slow and chill country to rock & roll that raises your blood pressure a few notches."
