The Freaky Friday Jailhouse Gang

“The Freaky Friday Jailhouse Gang” are an Austrian Funk Band based in Graz consisting of singer Lorena Valta, guitarist Markus Steinrück, bassist Tobias Steinrück and drummer Fabian Steinrück. (No, the last names are no coincidence, they are brothers;)

The Band formed around 2011, playing covers ranging from Sting to Stevie Wonder to The Beatles, but in 2020 they finally started writing their own music - the main genre is Funk, but it’s influenced by their Rock, Blues and Jazz backgrounds.

Their carrier highlight so far happened in the summer of 2022, when they had the great pleasure of playing as support act for TOTO in their hometown Graz.

Recently they released their Funky Sessions, a series of Cover Songs recorded Live at Styrian Recordings - in their own Funk arrangements - a concept strongly inspired by the American Bands Scary Pockets & Postmodern Jukebox.
Also in the works are new Songs as well as a music video for a Song of their latest Album “Rise Of The Animal Kingdom” and of course they play live shows in Austria and beyond.
