BIO: Steph Kay, who is currently fronting Eugene's progressive rock band "Drive to Space", has also spent time in the past performing nationwide with the St. Louis-based Widespread Panic tribute “Mom's Kitchen”, Summercamp Music Festival's VIP Tent alums; “Easy Riders”, with the Grateful Dead tributes “Another Dead Cover Band”, “The Jerryatrics”, and “Token Rhymes”, as well as Eugene's own “Left On Wilson” and “Blue Lotus”.
Steph has also shared stages with notable artists such as Victor Wooten, Vince Herman, Vinnie Amico and Al Schnier (of “moe.”), Jason Hann (of SCI), Sam Holt, Ike Willis and Ray White (of Frank Zappa's band), and Jay Cobb Anderson (of “Fruition”) just to name a few!
More obscure acts that Steph had an active role in are, but not limited to, Southern Illinois' prog rock bands “Defined Perception”, “Copecetic”, and the Chicago-based “Spread”.
Having performed in 18 states - and counting, across thousands of miles, Steph has performed over 1000 shows in their career.
As a solo artist, Steph performs covers from bands such as The Beatles, The Grateful Dead, Widespread Panic, String Cheese Incident, Phish, as well as original music and improvisational melodies.
Simply put, Steph likes to play, and has spent the last 27 years doing so!
