Dragony Biography

Dragony is a Symphonic Power Metal band from Vienna, Austria. The band was founded in 2007 as a studio project under the name The Dragonslayer Project, but changed its name to the shorter Dragony with the release of their debut album "Legends" in 2012 via Limb Music. To date, the band has released the four studio albums "Legends" (2012), "Shadowplay" (2015), "Masters of the Multiverse" (2018) and "Viribus Unitis" (2021) and one EP "Lords of the Hunt" (2017). The most recent release, "Viribus Unitis", is a concept album depicting an alternate history for the Austro-Hungarian Empire during the times of emperor Francis Joseph and empress Elisabeth. "Viribus Unitis" was the band's first album to be released via Napalm Records, and earned the band their first chart entries in Austria and Switzerland, as well as a nomination for the Amadeus Austrian Music Award in 2022. The band has played or toured with many well-known acts of the genre, including tours with Gamma Ray, Serenity, Visions of Atlantis and Freedom Call as well as support shows for Blind Guardian, Sonata Arctica, and Primal Fear and festival appearances at Wacken Open Air, Nova Rock, and 70.000 Tons of Metal.
