Ski Club Biography
Ski Club was founded in August 2007 by former members of Atlanta bands Kill Gordon, Variac, and Sovus Radio. After adding friend Michael Kai to the lineup, Ski Club wasted no time churning out songs for its first E.P. “Mother Mountain, Father Sky”. The band's sound stems from organic pop roots, but branches out into a sonically Dionysian landscape draped with experimental tones, influenced by such groups as Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine, Broken Social Scene and ELO. Ski Club have been described as an atmospheric Atlanta post-rock quartet that's alternately guitarishly dreamy and noisily anthemic. They are currently in the studio recording their much-anticipated first full-length LP, which has been slated for a Fall 2008 release.
