Whether that be through Full Circle; a young, thriving collective of Sydney artists rewriting history through creative collaboration, CONSCIOUS; a Campbelltown Arts Centre program cultivating the next generation of area hip hop, or through his debut project ZION GARCIA: (THEATRICAL VERSION); a sonic diary transfixed by Garcia’s bold, brash and eclectic exploration of story and culture through alternative hip-hop. Zion Garcia’s musical apparatus draws on who he is, where he’s from, and what he has to say. While his heart-on-sleeve approach to life and music has taken him to prolific stages like Listen Out and the Sydney Opera House, a “big break” isn’t even in the question; Zion’s name has found its home within fluorescent lights, and his long-deserved stardom has already been written.
