Julian & Kirk present their Halcyon Listening Room meditation album at an exclusive VIP dinner at the Northeast PA Yoga Festival - the largest yoga & wellness festival in Northeast PA!
Halcyon Listening Room is the third full-length album from pianist, composer, and producer Julian Hartwell, featuring an epic collaboration with sound healer Kirk “Evolvlove” Jones. A project almost five years in the making, the album synergistically fuses Hartwell’s piano and production skills with Evolvlove’s vast arsenal of sonic healing tools such as crystal and bronze bowls, gongs, flutes, percussion, tuning forks, and more. Together they have crafted a unique musical experience which might best be described without exaggeration as a "hyper-dimensional sonic immersion," with the intention to guide the listener through various states of consciousness and ultimately, encourage a meditative healing experience.

The Julian Hartwell Project is an original modern jazz quintet that melds elements of funk, hip-hop, RnB and more into an upbeat and memorable sound. With pianist/composer/arranger Julian Hartwell at its helm, this cadre of up-and-coming young players from the Philly scene infuse the small-group traditions of the past with genre-crossing contemporary relevance, embracing a particular sweet spot between rich, adventurous horn arrangements and inspired improvisation.
In the Fall of 2015 the band released its all-original eponymous debut to critical acclaim from jazz fans and the general public alike, and have since continued to build on that momentum with performances throughout the northeast, honing a dynamic live sound.
Sophisticated yet down-to-earth; intellectually satisfying but always sure to groove; it is abundantly clear that the ensemble known shorthand as “The JHP” is offering a fresh and distinctly soulful take on the jazz idiom, appealing to both the traditional and novice listener alike.
