This Beautiful Mess is a Dutch quintet combining melodic, orchestral rock with yearning, introspective lyrics painted against swirling, hypnotic musical backdrops.
The Soft Powers is the fifth record by This Beautiful Mess released in May 2025. The band consists of vocalist Arjen Van Wijk, guitarist Axel Kabboord, bassist Stefan van Maurik, drummer René de Vries and multi-instrumentalist Lydia Wever, who adds vocals, keyboard, and "string machine" to the group's cinematic aural palette.
