About this concert
The 13th Czech Ukulele Festival
The Czech Ukulele Festival is the longest-running European ukulele festival that attracts visitors from across the world, not only from the Czech Republic and Europe. The British newspaper The Guardian has placed the Czech Ukulele Festival among its top ten European summer festivals. The festival is committed to providing a multigenre assortment of performances at a high level of professional competence and an amazing level of entertainment.
The performers are drawn from all corners of the world. In 2025, we have performers from Hawaii, from across the EU, the UK, and even from Japan. All are at the top of their field.
We aim to attract and please a very wide demographic with music crossing the entire spectrum – from the classics through jazz and rock ‘n’ roll to rap and modern rhythm and blues – all with humour and sometimes some acrobatics, but all of it played on the ukulele.
A ukulele festival is an interactive event, and many audience members will bring their own instrument and enjoy the possibility of playing with friends and strangers during play-alongs, and for the braver ones, at the open mic.
The festival is a three-day event. Traditionally, the first day (Friday) is a roving event. In 2025, we will be returning to the wonderful medieval town of Kutná Hora, where we take the stage next to the majestic St. Barbora Abbey. The concerts on this day trip are free for the audience, as we aim to introduce this event to people who have never seen a ukulele concert.
The Saturday and Sunday section of the festival takes place in the village of Únětice on the outskirts of Northern Prague and features a wide selection of concerts and workshops. The main stage is hosted in the courtyard of the renowned Únětice Brewery, and workshops take place in various buildings throughout the picturesque village. The workshops range from absolute beginner level to sophisticated master classes.

The Tiger Lillies Biography
The Tiger Lillies present their fiercest, filthiest tunes for the perverse pleasure of fans old and new. Mean, moody and magnificent – if Hell had a house band, it’d be The Tiger Lillies.
Formed in 1989, the Olivier award winners’ distinctive musical style weaves together the macabre magic of pre-war Berlin, anarchic opera and gypsy music, echoing the voices of Bertolt Brecht, Jacques Brel, Edith Piaf and the savage edge of punk. The cult musical three-piece from London have been unleashing their riotous cabaret, music hall antics and bar room brawl songs on audiences the world over.
Prepare to be enthralled by the darkly funny music and bizarre beauty of The Tiger Lillies.
