The New Tourettes

Sprung out of desire for creativity and an urge to write new material, The Tourettes was first formed by Alexander and Lisa in Spring 2021. Now, could two hearts beat together, creatively too? And, what would be the divine or disastrous result of merging two widely different musical traditions? Alexander being former lead guitarist in Swedish indie pop band David & The Citizens and Lisa with recent past as singer/actress in musical theatre. Would sweet music arise when both brought theirs into the mix? Well, that is up for you to decide..

The Tourettes has since incubated and undergone slight metamorphosis, resulting in the re-birth of The New Tourettes, thus welcoming guitarist and song writer Joakim Sima, Frans af Schmidt on bass and Ola Strandsjö on drums! It’s delicate, yet bulky. It’s dreamy, yet achy. It’s delicious, yet coarse. And oh so tasty, with a slightly hard digest. This is not for the faint hearted, but for all of those standing outside looking in – stories about life and love and the great in-between.
