Road to Locus Leading up to Asia’s premier drum and bass festival, Locus are partnering with regional promoters to launched a tour spotlighting the continent’s thriving underground scene, ending with Locus 2025 at Nuanu, Bali from 18-22 June 2025. With Phase 1 already announced and tickets moving fast, the journey to paradise has begun. We are delighted to showcase two of the finest talents in the bass music scene as part of the tour, in Singapore on Saturday 24th May 2025 at one of the crucibles of bass music on the island, iKi. Operate, also known as Dom Operate, is a prominent UK-based drum and bass producer and DJ celebrated for his meticulous sound design and ability to blend subgenres seamlessly. Emerging from the underground scene, Operate first gained recognition through standout releases on labels such as Overview Music and Hospital Records. Tracks like LSD and Diamonds (with Degs and Duskee) exemplify his signature style, blending emotive melodies with driving basslines and polished production. His roots in music trace back to a diverse array of influences, including hip-hop and metal, which contribute to the depth and texture of his sound. Collaborations with artists such as Monrroe and Javeon have further showcased his versatility and commitment to pushing creative boundaries. Live performances are a cornerstone of Operate’s career, with sets that demonstrate not only his technical skill but also his ability to connect with audiences. Whether performing at intimate club nights or major festivals, his sets are characterised by seamless transitions and immersive energy. IYRE is a DJ and producer who has, over the last few years, carved a niche for himself in the drum and bass (DnB) scene, while also driving the message back home about what it means to be a DJ in the modern global music scene. IYRE has rapidly gained recognition in the international DnB scene, being nominated as one of the British magazine Mixmag’s ‘Top 10 Breakthrough DJs’ in 2022 and DJ Mag’s ‘One to Watch’ for 2024. His unique sound blends traditional South Asian influences with the energetic and intricate rhythms characteristic of DnB, showcasing his ability to innovate within the genre. As one of the most notable bass music artists to emerge from South and Southeast Asia, we are beyond thrilled to present Iyre as ‘one of our own’, both a regional and global standout talent. With support from scene stalwarts KRSTN and Davros, this is bound to be a quality night of bass music.
