Edi Callier Biography
Born August 10th in Portland, Oregon, Edi Callier is an award-winning recording artist, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and mental health advocate. His music can best be described as an eclectic blend of soul, funk, rock, pop, R&B, and jazz with some international flare - sort of like if Prince, The Weeknd, Bruno Mars, George Duke, Danny Elfman, and Miguel had a baby in church and it listened to exclusively Indian, Latin, and African music for a year.
Inspired by the music of Prince, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, EWF, Aerosmith, Nirvana, John Williams, Danny Elfman, and his roots playing and singing alongside his father in the church at a young age, his journey led him to the city of Atlanta where he rapidly made a name for himself and built a following through his genre-bending brand of music, commanding stage presence, extraordinary musicianship, and his distinguishably smooth yet passionate vocal performance.
His diligence captured the eyes and ears of artists and talent buyers across the nation as he’s been seen as an opener for artists such as Grammy® Award-winning artists Tank (SAVAGE Tour) and Cocoa Sarai as well as Gary “Lil G” Jenkins of Silk, as a headliner for festivals such as the Collard Greens Music Festival, Sweet Auburn Music Festival, Taste of Soul Music Festival Atlanta, Juneteenth Atlanta Music Festival, as a performer for Centennial Olympic Park’s Prince Tribute with Lil' John Roberts (Janet Jackson) and Tres Gilbert (Bobby Brown), at the historic Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York, at The Viper Room on the Sunset Strip, The NAMM Show, Sofar Sounds, California Worldfest, and on the first season of the FOX Television show 'The Four: Battle for Stardom.’
In 2020, he began chipping away at the recorded side of his musical artistry leading to the completion of his first full body of work and long-awaited debut album, 'LOVE: the eXperience, Vol. 1’, featuring songs detailing the vulnerability of life experiences and the importance of mental health while showcasing his unique production style, songwriting, and melodic approach.
In the fall of the same year, he said goodbye to Atlanta and packed his bags for a move to Los Angeles, California where he proceeded to further chip away at artistic endeavors and in 2022, he released his next body of work, ‘Edi Callier: eXperience Unplugged’, an explorative acoustic EP of records initially featured on his debut album followed by the summer release of his second album, ‘LOVE: noir’, a soulful project that dives into various facets of romantic love.
