Nathalie Bonin Biography
Nathalie is an award-winning Canadian violinist and composer based in Los Angeles. Featured on the Grammy-Winning “Women Warriors: The Voices of Change” soundtrack, guest soloist with Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, member of the New York based Jazz quintet: Ted Nash and ODEON, soloist with the Société de Musique Contemporaine du Québec (SMCQ) and Concertmaster for the Ensemble Contemporain de Montréal in 2007, Nathalie recently led an 18-piece string section as Concertmaster for “The Way of Water” project by Florian Hoefner and Quinsin Nachoff recorded at Piccolo Studio in 2024. Previously, Nathalie premiered the “Andronicus” violin concerto by Jairo Duarte-Lopez with the UCLA Philharmonia in Los Angeles and a few years ago, premiered and recorded Quinsin Nachoff’s violin concerto that she commissioned as part of the album Pivotal Arc.
Asides from her numerous contributions as violinist in contemporary, jazz, tango and world music ensembles, Nathalie has also performed or recorded with: Stevie Wonder, YES, Bran Van 3000, Moist, DeadMau5, Alan Parson, Chance The Rapper, Peter Cetera, Luciano Pavarotti, Charles Aznavour, Gino Vannelli, Salvatore Adamo, Gage, Henri Salvador, Nanette Workman, Cirque du Soleil and Cirque Éloize as well as recorded on numerous movie and television soundtracks. She was Concertmaster of La Voix (The Voice) in Montreal for 8 years.
A relentless explorer, her creative journey has led her to compose for film, television, video games, and immersive avant-garde experiences, always searching for new ways to tell stories through sound. Her deeply expressive works have been featured on Bridgerton, The Decameron, Oprah Conversations, New Amsterdam, and many more, captivating audiences with their rich textures and emotional resonance and getting multiple Awards from SOCAN, SESAC, HMMA and Music+Sound. Her recent neo-classical album, "Aspirations", recorded at Abbey Road Studios, and the mystical "Sacred Echoes", co-written with Radhika Vekaria and recorded at Synchron Stage Vienna, reflect her boundless artistic spirit.
