About this concert
After nearly two decades, Invocation of Nehek is reuniting to play Hellphyra 2025, at the Williams Center in NJ. the spiritual successor to Hellfest. Invocation of Nehek, a relentless metalcore band from Connecticut who built their legacy the hard way. No GPS. No viral moments. Just MapQuest, breakdowns (the musical and mechanical kind), and a brotherhood forged in vans, basements, and VFW Halls across America. Invocation, older, wiser, and still loud, has re-emerged drawing on a legacy that still resonates deeply with heavy music fans today.
“We’re not chasing hype. We’re showing up for the people who never stopped listening.”
This isn’t a comeback. It’s a thank you to the fans who never gave up or forgot.
And a reminder: some bands never really go away.
Hellfest was an annual hardcore and metal music festival that existed between 1997 and 2005. Hellphyra is a joint collaboration between Trustkill Records, Ephyra Records, and Takedown Records. “What started it all ... meets what brought it back”

Invocation of Nehek Biography
Connecticut-based metalcore band formed in 2001, known for fusing brutal breakdowns, technical riffing, and relentless energy. Signed to Prosthetic Records in 2004, the band released a self-titled album that became a cult classic in the early 2000s underground heavy scene. They toured the country relentlessly before disbanding in 2006.

Bio from 2001: “Our thought from day one was to make heavy fucking metal, stuff that's brutal, but still catchy,” says Invocation of Nehek guitarist and Co-founding member Robb Cyr (Steve Pianka being the other founding member). “We are all hardcore kids in one form or another, so we still wanted to have breakdowns, but we also wanted to be a little different” Mission accomplished. These self-proclaimed “hardcore kids,” since their formation in Hartford , Connecticut , in 2001, have transformed into one of the Northeast's most diverse and utterly explosive new bands."
And Invocation of Nehek's thoroughly chest-caving metal, cross-pollinated with pure hardcore, sets them apart from every other band in the fertile Northeast scene.
