Rebecca Turmel Biography
Rebecca Turmel originally intended to pursue a career in musical theatre, but her direction changed when she taught herself to play the guitar. She found a much deeper connection with storytelling while creating her own unique adaptations of the music she loves. Her most recent release “Twenty Years From Now” is a cover song, and a perfect example of how she makes each song her own. After a few years of success with performing live as a cover artist, Rebecca took a leap of faith and quit her day job to become a full-time musician in 2020. Then, she took the next step in her musical journey and began writing and recording original music in 2022. One of Rebecca Turmel's latest singles, "The Road Song" tells the story of the life she's been living these past few years and features Jackson Browne's guitarist, Val McCallum. It’s hard to put Rebecca's sound into a box as she is influenced by an eclectic musical taste, but what we do know is her voice is both powerful and vulnerable. She has a gift for telling stories and never fails to connect with her listeners on a personal level. Although she is fairly new to the world of songwriting, Rebecca Turmel also proves to have a penchant for writing infectious tunes and relatable narratives. She is just getting started in her music career, but the horizon looks exciting and bright…
