SONG OF THE YEAR "We've Talked About This Before"
67th Annual Grammy Awards®
2x New England Music Award winner:
2018 MALE PERFORMER OF THE YEAR | 2019 VIDEO OF THE YEAR
"Munk’s dedication to his dazzling sonic vision and his commitment to social commentary set him apart as an artist with a distinct voice. With each release, he solidifies his position as a musical force to be reckoned with."
- Plastic Magazine UK
Munk Duane is a recording artist, producer, and film music composer whose sound is deeply rooted in the Soul and Pop of the late '60s and early '70s. He crafts a sonic world that feels both timeless and forward-thinking—honoring tradition while embracing modernity. By channeling the spirit of vintage influences through a contemporary lens, Munk creates bold, hybrid compositions that push genre boundaries.
His song "Myths" earned GRAMMY® consideration for Best Pop Solo Performance, and was once again on the ballot for the 67th Annual GRAMMY® Awards with "We've Talked About This Before", up for Song of the Year. He is also a two-time New England Music Award winner—Performer of the Year (2018) and Video of the Year (2019) for "Another Day Another Bullet."
Munk’s music has been featured in hundreds of film and television productions, including The Sopranos, Atlanta, Pam & Tommy, Dateline NBC, NCIS, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and 60 Minutes. His compositions have enhanced major sports broadcasts such as NFL on CBS (120 broadcasts), March Madness, Super Bowl Halftime Show, NCAA Basketball (29 broadcasts), US Open Tennis, and CBS Sports. His work is widely licensed across top platforms and networks, including ABC, CBS, NBC, A&E, Amazon Prime Video, Max, and NatGeo.
Recent projects include composing for Extreme Music (Sony/ATV’s production arm), Bleeding Fingers (co-founded by Hans Zimmer and Russell Emanuel), Pitch Hammer Music (trailers for Disney, Marvel, and more), Bose Corporation, and Heavy Hitters Music.
Munk has been featured in Billboard Magazine, The Hollywood Reporter, and The Boston Globe. He’s also shared his experience and insight as a guest lecturer for Berklee College of Music’s Professional Development Seminar and as keynote speaker at the Massachusetts DECA Regional Conference.
The Hype Magazine -
"Taking inspiration from contemporaries like Anderson Paak and Kendrick Lamar, while also recognizing past purveyors like Curtis Mayfield and Stevie Wonder, Munk Duane crafts the perfect blend of groove-oriented conscious-R&B. His music has a purpose and in today’s social climate the messages are all too clear.”
The Indie Source -
“Munk Duane has refined his singer/songwriter sound to craft an expressive novel voice… urban and confident. Munk is mixing his ingenious composing skills with a mastery of pop that makes the sound his own. Complimented by seasoned lyricism, Duane finds his footing in R&B Funk while leaning into the soul that sets his music apart.”
The Static Dive -
“Munk nails it across the board. From the sexy analog synth at the heart of the mix, to the minimalist downtempo funk of the percussion, Munk gets it. He’s on a roll. Get in the loop.”
Boston Globe -
"Munk crafts his music with intelligence and panache. Can superstar status be far behind?”
