Tell Me (No) Tales - A Ballet
Having fallen in love with the vivid paradoxes and moving absurdity of Imants Ziedonis’s Colorful Fairy Tales during her school years, Elza Leimane draws inspiration from this masterpiece to explore the rich history of ballet in her production Tell Me (No) Tales. The music for the performance was composed and performed by Jānis Šipkēvics (Shipsea), Matīss Čudars, and Kaspars Kurdeko.

The production received the Latvian Dance Award 2019–2020 in the category “Ballet Performance or Event.”

Shipsea (Jānis Šipkēvics) is a Latvian musician – singer, multi-instrumentalist, composer, lyricist, and producer. He is a member of the group Instrumenti, the founder of the vocal group Cosmos and musical projects Nepāriet and Dora. His solo project is known as Shipsea.
