Take Back the Night (TBTN) is an event that happens on college campuses across the United States to bring awareness to sexual violence issues and provide an opportunity for survivors and others to share their experiences with violence in a powerful space after rallying and marching together. Here at CSU, SAFE Center holds Take Back the Night as a survivor-centered, community space. This version of Take Back the Night was created by our Assistant Director of Educational Programs, Erica Ross, and we seek to further the transformative work she started by continuing on with a community dinner and program for the third year in a row. This years theme 'Portal of Possibility' is situated within the Sexual Assault Awareness Month 2025 theme contending with the ebbs and flows of grief, where we see the practice of truly feeling our grief—deeply, safely, and on our own terms, as a portal of possibility to new ways of living, dreaming, and thriving as survivors. Please join us in accessing this portal as we hold and move with grief as a community, followed by the celebration of the new possibilities that come with graduating as we recognize survivors and allies who are graduating Spring 2025.
