Marye Lobb Biography

Marye Lobb is a Rochester-born, bilingual singer-songwriter and Berklee College of Music graduate whose soulful voice and multilingual storytelling have carried her from New York City clubs to tours across the U.S., South America, and Europe — as well as the vineyards and festivals of her native Finger Lakes.

Her music is a tapestry of influences — American folk, jazz, and Latin traditions — woven into songs that speak of belonging, loss, joy, and the search for home.
Lobb has released three full-length albums — Finding Home (2008), Not at War (2012), and Top of the Trees (2017) — and the self-produced single Iceberg (2023). Her fourth record, Mi Ola, arrives October 24, 2025. Along the way, she’s collaborated with global artists such as Firoz Binali (HIRAETH, 2023) and Immaculate Knyte (No Way Out, 2016), and shared stages with Yo-Yo Ma, the David Bromberg Big Band, and There Is No Mountain.

Her performances span iconic venues including CBGBs, The Bitter End, The Cutting Room, Knitting Factory, Rockwood Music Hall, Nuyorican Poets Café, Zinc Bar, and The Stonewall Inn (NYC); Room 5 Lounge (LA); The Birchmere (DC); and Pike Place Market (Seattle). In the Finger Lakes, she’s held a residency at The Little Theatre Café and performed at Once Finger Lakes, Two Goats Brewing, Barnstormer Winery, and Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard (for Ferrari/Canossa Events). Festival appearances include the Montclair Jazz Festival, Newburgh Illuminated Festival, and Queens Night Market.

Lobb’s albums trace an arc of healing and transformation — from Top of the Trees, written after her father’s passing, to Mi Ola, a record born of resilience, creative renewal, and the ocean’s lessons in trust. Her influences include The Beatles, Ani DiFranco, Ella Fitzgerald, Violeta Parra, João & Astrud Gilberto, Astor Piazzolla, Regina Spektor, Billie Holiday, Amy Winehouse, and Lizzo.

Onstage, she’s a warm, multilingual storyteller and multi-instrumentalist (guitar, baritone ukulele, piano). Her shows range from quiet reflection to joyful sing-alongs — always centered on inclusivity and connection. Whether in a club, church, winery, or living room, Marye Lobb’s mission is simple: to help listeners feel at home and at peace within themselves, and to spark deeper connection wherever the music travels.
