Enjoyed the show! It was a great day, great weather, & a great performance. Simon was missed but it was a treat to get to hear the younger Day perform his talented skills on the mandolin. Looking forward to seeing them again :)

Hosmer Mountain Boys Biography
Simon Brogie, banjo player, was born near the bottom of the Hosmer Mountain in Willimantic not long ago, and has been described by some attendees at the Thomas Point Beach Bluegrass Festival in Brunswick, ME, as Connecticut's best kept secret. He's been playing bluegrass music since a child, but has only recently been making the bluegrass scene. He's about as authentic as you can get to the coveted Scruggs-style banjo playing. He and his buddy Keegan Day, guitar/ vocals, have a strong sense of how bluegrass music was played before the 1960s and it comes across as genuine and true to style of the likes of Flatt & Scruggs. The band is rounded out by Cathy Day and Tom Bowman on fiddle, and upright bass, respectively.
