Spring Colours Biography
Spring Colours is a chiptune, emo, noise-pop five piece from Toronto, Ontario. Their maximalist style offers effect-heavy guitars, noisy yet nostalgic synthesizers, emotive lyrics, and alternative song structures mixed with catchy hooks and high-energy performances.
Formed in late 2019 by Lukas Lyjak, Susie Ryu, and David Dellio, the band released their debut self-titled EP in March of 2020. With live performances held back due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the band went back to writing new material and added Sean Mckenna and Amani Sabry to the roster, and released their second EP 'Loom', in July of 2023. Since the release of Loom, Spring Colours has been playing shows throughout southern Ontario, releasing an additional single ‘Loud Noises, Indoor Voices’ in September 2024. They’ve had the opportunity to open for a diverse array of touring bands, including Sparta, Frail Body, Heart To Gold, and Carly Cosgrove.
Spring Colours is influenced by bands such as Wolf Parade, Tokyo Police Club, and Fucked Up. They aim to write music that ponders collective and personal struggles, wrapped up in instrumental arrangements that are spry, dramatic, and energetic.
