Performing the music of his idol David Axelrod, Sholto grew up with a love for jazz, soul and the sound tracks of the 60s and 70s. Axelrod gained recognition for blending jazz, rock, soul, and classical influences into lush, cinematic compositions, Axelrod transformed the musical landscape. A visionary composer, producer, and arranger, his genre-defying work not only shaped the music of artists such as Lou Rawls and The Electric Prunes, it also became a treasure trove for hip-hop artists, with his work sampled by Dr. Dre, DJ Shadow, and many more. Backed by tastemakers including Gilles Peterson, Deb Grant, Jyoty and Tony Minvielle, SHOLTO, brings Axelrod's enduring legacy to life onstage. Sholto's music expresses a warm array of colours, analogue instrumental grooves and euphoric sentimentality. His music career began in 2013, when a record deal took him to LA, leading to him working with producers like Nick Waterhouse (Allah-Las) before returning to the UK and collaborating with the likes of Inflo (Cleo Sol), and Dan Carey (Wet Leg, Squid). He is also one half of production duo Sunglasses For Jaws.
