WitchHands Biography

WitchHands plays Deathrock.
WitchHands *NOT* "Witch Hands"
Deathrock *NOT* Death Metal

WitchHands is a Colorado based Deathrock / Gothic Rock band since 2016.
D-beat drums, chorus drenched guitars, and lyrics of melancholic poetry and righteous rage.

Originally inspired by the Deathrock (Goth Punk) pioneers T.S.O.L., Killing Joke, Rudimentary Peni, and .45 Grave. They have evolved toward a more melodic, heavy style encompassing Gothic Rock, Post Punk sound that earned comparisons to Samhain, The Cult, Atriarch, and “an angry Sisters of Mercy.”

WitchHands is best known for their energetic live performances and because of their varied sound, fitting bills with genres as varied as Deathrock and Horror Punk, to Metal, Post-Punk, Darkwave, Hardcore, New Wave, Industrial, and on and on

“WitchHands is an excellent band from Colorado whose first album got people talking when it came out, and for good reason, it rocks!”
-Interview by Xzvrey (France) in 2024

“Colorado doom… with raw open-wound sounds full of decay and ritual. That place where early goth rock stayed into metal and pain. Spewing forth a filth and blood soaked pageantry with blistering guitars mashed with organs and echos.” - Sounds & Shadows

“The wild bastards are back!
… Personally I can take all the fury they can throw at me.
It’s great to have them back.”
WitchHands - No Gods No Masters Mick Mercer Apr 26, 2023
