Tuyo Biography

Comprising Lio, Lay and Machado, Tuyo is a sound journey through pop, house, synthpop, and afropop, exploring the fusion of electronic beats, harmonic vocals, and acoustic textures - a beautiful and visceral experience.

The album "Chegamos Sozinhos em Casa Vol. 1" was the work responsible for taking Tuyo to the Latin GRAMMY Awards, nominated as "Best Contemporary Pop Album in Portuguese Language". The track "Sonho da Lay" was also nominated for Prêmio Multishow – the most popular music award in Brazil – as "Song of the Year."

The trio has had noteworthy appearances at major festivals, including the world's largest innovation and technology festival, South by Southwest (SXSW), in the United States, for three consecutive years in 2021, 2022, and 2023. Their debut garnered praise from The New York Times' critic Jon Pareles, who evaluated Tuyo's show as one of the top 15 performances in the world that year, among over 300 artists. Outside Brazil, Tuyo has performed on stages such as Colors of Ostrava (Czech Republic), Primavera Sound Barcelona (Spain), Lisbon, and Porto (Portugal).

Tuyo's international presence was also marked by their opening performances for the American band The Internet in 2019, opening shows for the tour in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Porto Alegre. In 2022, the trio also opened for Demi Lovato throughout her visit to São Paulo.

In Brazil, Tuyo has already performed at major festivals such as Lollapalooza, Primavera Sound São Paulo, Turá, Coolritiba, MECA Inhotim, CoMA, Coquetel Molotov, Rock the Mountain, Nomade Festival, Queremos, Bananada, among others. Now the band is preparing for the release of their new album, "Paisagem," in the first half of 2024, which also marks the beginning of the new tour.
