About this concert
Italian Baroque composers provide exciting dialogue, flashy solos and energetic grooves from ensemble and soloist.
Curiosity, daring and enthusiasm; here is the youngest generation! With her unmistakable flair and intoxicating virtuosity, cellist Amarilis Dueñas (1998) joins Holland Baroque in a new programme around Italian composers such as Vivaldi, Platti, Dall’Abaco, and Sollima.
Cellist Amarilis Dueñas is one of those exceptional musicians who move effortlessly between old and new, improvisations, ensemble playing and virtuoso solos. Born in Valladolid, Spain, Dueñas plays viola da gamba as well as cello and her repertoire ranges from Renaissance to Romanticism and from improvisations to solo concertos. The meeting between Amarilis Dueñas and Holland Baroque will result in a sparkling, virtuoso evening that is tailor-made for the cellist and the orchestra. Baroque is now.
