Enchanting audiences around the country with her haunting, emotionally vulnerable take on alt-pop and acoustic folk, Phoebe Go is the solo music project of Melbourne-born, Sydney-based singer-songwriter Phoebe Lou, one-time vocalist for teenage indie sensations Snakadaktal and their dreamy electronic offshoot, Two People. Riding the success of her 2024 debut album Marmalade and latest single “Taking Care of It”, Phoebe Go brings her captivating, intimate sound to Vivid Live for her Sydney Opera House debut. Having discovered songwriting at a young age, the teenage Lou found herself in the national spotlight as the voice of Snakadaktal, a beloved five-piece Melbourne band whose five-year run from 2009-14 yielded the Hottest 100 hits “Air” and “Dance Bear” and the ARIA top 10 album Sleep in the Water. After the success of the band’s electro-tinged spinoff Two People, Lou launched her solo career with the Phoebe Go project and the EP Player, with its tough, determined breakout single “We Don’t Talk”. Led by the poignant “Good Fight” and the irresistibly hooky “Leave”, Marmalade marks the sound of Phoebe Go coming into her own as an artist, weaving together the strands of her musical experience for a sound that ranks among Australia’s finest alt-pop.
