Maurizio Bignone Biography
Maurizio Bignone is an Italian pianist and composer, transversal and crossover, embracing different styles from his earliest compositions without neglecting experimentation, but always with a common thread uniting his works. This is why he felt the need to develop a well-defined melodic line, all within the common basic system that is part of contemporary classical music. His love for nature, its wonders and the sensations it generates form the basis of his music.
With his music, Maurizio whispers to people’s souls and establishes a special attunement with them that creates a feeling of emotional and cathartic well-being. Maurizio is also considered one of the most interesting artists of the new Italian contemporary scene.
In 2019 he starts a new tour with his new project “No Border” where Maurizio plays with flutist Elena Kushchii (Concertmaster flute and soloist at the Odessa Opera and Ballet Theatre – Ukraine) and cellist Giorgio Gasbarro (Concertmaster cello and soloist at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo and in the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana).
His music is in demand and performed by musicians all over the world, such as violinist Laurentius Dinca (Berliner Philharmoniker) and the Berlin Philharmonic Soloists, American concert violist Brett Deubner, Russian concert cellist Maya Fridman, Italian pianist Gilda Buttà, Italian solo cellist Luca Pincini, American solo trumpeter Ralph Alessi, the first cello soloist of the Gurzenich-Orchestre in Cologne Ulrike Schafer, the concertmaster and first viola of the Philadelphia Virtuosi Chamber Dennis Krasnokutsky, the Serbian pianist Maja Rajkovich, the jazz pianist Rita Marcotulli, the Tan’g Quartet from Singapore, the Trio Siciliano (with soloists from the Teatro Massimo in Palermo), the Astana Opera House, the Novosibirsk Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, Hirokyo cellos, etc.
His music is included in many festivals such as ‘Festival dei due mondi’ in Spoleto, Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Amici della Musica in Palermo, in Novara, in Milan, in Mazara del Vallo, in Trapani, Conservatory in Palermo, in Perugia, in Bari, Aaron Copland School in New York, Contemporary Music Festival in Novosibirsk (Russia), Round Top festival (Texas), Festival of Gramado (Brazil), Orestiadi di Gibellina (contemporary music festival), Womad, and are performed in the most important concert halls in Italy, Germany, France, England, Belgium, USA, Japan, Australia, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Russia, Singapore, Holland, China, Ukraine, etc.
In April 2021, the solo piano piece ‘Let life surprise you’ was at number 1 in the Itunes Top 200 Brazilian classical music chart, and in August 2021, the solo piano piece ‘Sussurri’ was at number 2. In June 2021, three of his pieces entered the Itunes classical music chart in Germany, achieving 21st, 23rd and 27th place in the chart with the pieces ‘Follow Me’, ‘The wind and the rose’ and ‘Black sea’.
In November 2021, Maurizio made his debut in Ukraine in the city of Odessa. The concert was sold out in a few days and the audience greatly appreciated the concert with a standing ovation at the end.
Since 2022 Maurizio has been touring with his new piano solo project “Inner Reflections”, an intense musical journey where Maurizio describes with passion and a sensitive, at times wild and dreamy soul, what the limits of human nature are in relation to the elements of nature and to himself. The tour has already toured the cities of Odessa (UA), Kiev (UA), Dnipro (UA), Lviv (UA), Rivne (UA), Ivano-Frankivsk (UA), Zhytomyr (UA), Palermo (ITA), Rome (ITA), Hamburg (DE), Amsterdam (NE), Dannenberg (DE), Salzwedel (DE), Hitzacker (DE), Rio de janeiro (BRA), São Paulo (BRA), Astana (KZ), Almaty (KZ), always with great success and several sold-out performances.
