Man, this cat has been around and knows everybody who was anybody back in the halcyon days of pop, jazz and R’nB singers circa 1940-1960s, And he can sing and croon with the best of them. The band was large, nearly 20 pieces, the cats was the cream of the crop jazz and sessions players and they could play. Billy Vera moved from Lowell Fulsom and Jackie Wilson to Frank Sinatra and Yip Harberg to his own compositions. He spins stories of his career tween songs making the performance interesting and intimate. He’ll be back at this venue soon. Don’t miss him.

Billy Vera – A Legend in Music, Film, and Voiceover

Best known for his 1987 #1 smash At This Moment, Billy Vera’s career began with the hit Storybook Children, a duet with Judy Clay. The duo became a sensation at Harlem’s Apollo Theater as the first black-and-white act to chart.

Vera’s songs have been recorded by some of the biggest names in music, including Ricky Nelson, Fats Domino, the Shirelles, Etta James, Bonnie Raitt, Robert Plant, Tom Jones, Freda Payne, Lou Rawls, Eric Burdon, Michael Bublé, and Dolly Parton, who hit #1 with I Really Got The Feeling. He produced four albums for Lou Rawls, including the #1 jazz album At Last.

His acting credits span film and television, with appearances in Blind Date, The Doors, The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai, and a recurring role on Beverly Hills 90210. He also sang the theme songs for The King of Queens and Empty Nest. A true industry veteran, Billy has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and won a Grammy Award in 2013 for Best Album Notes on Ray Charles’ Singular Genius: The Complete ABC Singles.

For over two decades, Billy has been one of the top voiceover actors and promo announcers, lending his voice to major brands like Applebee’s, Burger King, Honda, Pepsi, 7-Up, American Express, Mercedes-Benz, Levi’s, Nissan, Sprint, T-Mobile, and countless others. He was the voice of AM-PM convenience stores for 22 years and served as the comedy promo announcer for CBS Network for five years.
