Çiçek Taksi

Çiçek Taksi's Singer Selin Dettwiler has been learning plenty of turkish songs from her Mother during childhood. Also her father, he is an organ player, influenced her musical background. Nevertheless Selin first dismissed a musical career and became a film editor. But during a film shot in the Swiss alps she met the three folk musicians and one thing led to another. Today Selin Dettwiler, Bidu Rüegsegger (bass), Kaspar Eggimann (accordion) and Simeon Schwab (clarinet) make up the Band Çiçek Taksi.

Çiçek Taksi started to adapt classics from the Turkish music world and released some of them on their first Album Bahçede. Currently Çiçek Taksi is collaborating with turkish speaking writers in Switzerland and sets their Lyrics to music. While the members of Cicek Taksi hail from different musical backgrounds, it is their shared love of hand player music that really brings them together as a band. With an intese interplay between the musicians they blend together the unique timbre of Derya Yildirim with the unpretentious playing of Taksim Trio and the sophistication of Sophie Hunger.
