Event websiteAbout this concert
Come soak up some sun and join the always-lively Maygen & The Birdwatcher full band as we ring in SUMMER on the river! Free show!
Maygen & The Birdwatcher weave a rich tapestry of Americana, blending folk and country with an eclectic twist. Lead singer-songwriters Maygen Lacey and Noah Neumann began as a duo and quickly grew into a 5, 6, sometimes more-piece band that crafts a fresh take on bluegrass-infused folk. It’s a hyphenated hybrid that can come only from a seasoned—and tightly knit—band.
With a sound that’s both familiar and innovative, Maygen & The Birdwatcher have garnered accolades like Album of the Year, Americana Artist of the Year, and Entertainer of the Year from the Midwest Country Music Organization, and have had their songs featured in Spotify's Indie Bluegrass and New Grass playlists, Minnesota Monthly, 89.3FM The Current, and many others. They have toured the country and shared stages with the likes of Sierra Ferrell, Old Crow Medicine Show, Grace Potter, The Ozark Mountain Daredevils, Indigo Girls, Molly Tuttle, Lindsey Lou, The Last Revel, People Brothers Band and more.
Their latest offering, Leap Year (Aug 2, 2024), invites listeners into a contemplative journey inspired by the celestial themes of 2024, reflecting their unique blend of instrumentation and vocals. Meanwhile, they're gearing up to start releasing music from their sophomore full-length album The Americana Dream. That will be a whole other adventure of sound, including horns, kazoos, accordion, and saxophone. The Americana Dream is expected to be released this fall 2025, with singles set to start hitting airwaves in May. As Maygen & The Birdwatcher continue to evolve, they leave fans eager for more of their original, captivating music.

Maygen & The Birdwatcher Biography
Maygen & The Birdwatcher weave a rich tapestry of Americana, blending folk and country with an eclectic twist. Lead singer-songwriters Maygen Lacey and Noah Neumann began as a duo and quickly realized their sonic vision needed more. At the heart of their sound is a collective of talented musicians. Multi-instrumentalist Nik Pellinen adds depth with his banjo, lap steel, electric guitar, and harmonies while Jesse Moravec brings a vibrant touch with mandolin and harmonies and Evin Haukos soars on fiddle. Bassist Joe Barron and drummer-percussionist Peter Anderson round out the ensemble, crafting a fresh take on bluegrass-infused folk. It’s a hyphenated hybrid that can come only from a seasoned—and tightly knit—band.
The Americana Dream (expected fall 2025) is a journey of a record that finds Maygen & The Birdwatcher expanding their horizons in multiple ways. The second record from the Minnesota-based group is a sonic travelogue that charts where they have been and where their collective gaze is headed. The record follows the group’s 2021 debut Moonshine, as well as festival opportunities to share stages with fellow genre luminaries like Sierra Ferrell, Old Crow Medicine Show, and Grace Potter and being awarded Album of the Year from the Midwest Country Music Organization. Along with co-producer John Fields (Brandi Carlile, Soul Asylum, Miley Cyrus), Maygen & The Birdwatcher’s new album represents a full embrace of the literal definition of Americana, as well as a deep love for the ground we walk on and the future of the planet itself. On The Americana Dream, the group continues to push themselves while making it sound easy and effortless through the pure strength of their creations.
