Punk rock for sad people who still like to dance.
Synthetic Sun is a punk rock/indie/post-hardcore trio from St. Louis, MO making raw, emotionally honest music for the outcasts and weirdos. Starting in 2014 as a solo basement project, frontman Nick Geller eventually linked up with drummer Mikey Peterson and bassist Alejandro Montero, forming the band’s core that’s lasted through lineup changes and sonic shifts.
Over four releases — "Everything is Terrible" (2016), "Avoiding Real Life Completely" (2018), "Not Having A Good Time" (2020), and "Blunt" (2024) — the band has carved out a sound that’s both catchy and chaotic: a swirl of chunky bass lines, amped-up guitars, and confessional vocals.
