About this concert
Join us as we present our most recent compositions and arrangements at the 2025 edition of Jazz in the Park, a concert series powered by NEMPAC in collaboration with the City of Boston and the Greenway. Our music, influenced by jazz, Latin American music, and Afro-Caribbean rhythms, explores sound through the infinite possibilities of improvisation. The band features Ian Ashby on bass, Santiago Bosch on keys, Hector Falu on drums, and Rafa Heredia on percussion. We hope to see you all there!

Samuel Batista Biography
Panamanian saxophonist Samuel Batista mixes folkloric rhythms with jazz. Graduated from Berklee, Batista has taught at The New England Conservatory and performed at venues such as Montreal Jazz Festival, Kriol Jazz Festival and Carnegie Hall. His album, Panama United, debuted at the Panama Jazz Festival. In 2018, Batista toured with singer Ruben Blades while teaching at the Danilo Perez Foundation. He is currently working on his upcoming album Rising to Love.
