Tadhg Williams Biography

Tadhg Williams is a folk-rock artist from Waterford, Ireland. His songs have become known for their honest and challenging lyricism, looking into the past to grasp the present. His latest release, 'This Record is a Nixer', holds these standards to account, as Tadhg navigates the angers and frustrations of being a twenty-something year old musician in Ireland today, through his understanding of history.

Having sold out numerous shows in Dublin and Waterford, and earned the opportunity to perform in venues such as Vicar Street and the Theatre Royal; Tadhg's live shows have been described as "amazing and profoundly personal." He has also supported artists such as Kingfishr, Niamh Regan, Danny O'Reilly (The Coronas), Hermitage Green, Mary Black, and has played Glastonbury Festival.

‘This Record is a Nixer’ was met with critical acclaim upon its release in December 2024. A collection of acoustic songs, inspired by the likes of The War on Drugs, The Waterboys, Sam Fender and Damien Dempsey, prove that a good song can sound as impressive stripped back as it does with a live band. Many of the tracks from the release have been named as songs of the year in music media outlets including Hot Press, while they also received radio support across Ireland and the UK, including spins on RTE, BBC, Today FM and Radio Nova.

Tadhg will begin recording his debut album in 2025.
