About this concert
Woo Hoo! It’s a lovely Graduation Week in sunny Athens, OH and we have a great show to celebrate the end of the school year, and we plan to do so in style. The Kay Carter Project brings some back pocket grooves with house band Larry Elefante as her team of misfits. If you don’t know, Kay Carter is the queen of the Athens music scene and she means business, folks!! We are so excited to introduce some of our friends from both Cleveland and Cincinnati for their first shows in Athens! We are joined by Lea Marra & the River Boys from Cleveland for some serious girl boss string music. You may have seen her at Paw Paw in years past but she’s making her Athens debut! We are also joined by very special guests Hello Sapien from Cincy making their Athens debut rocking out some rowdy country rock n roll tunes that you’ll eat up. It’s looking like a sweet way to go out with a bang right into May! $8 8pm door 9pm showtime. Let’s roll!

Hello Sapien Biography

Hello Sapien is a four-piece alt-folk band out of Cincinnati, OH led by singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Adam Stone, who is supported by a cast of well-seasoned musicians -- including members of WHY?, Heartless Bastards, and Leggy. While the band's sound tends to fluctuate between songs, it's safe to expect lyric-centric tunes with plenty of piano, big bridges, and interesting twists on traditional songwriting.

"Stone's imaginative lyrics and spry vocals highlight his dynamic, Americana-influenced songwriting, with a range of temperaments stretching like the landscapes of peaks and valleys he sings about, with a few enduring quirks that offer some surprise." -CityBeat
