Unkle Phunk Biography
Earl "Phunk Dawg/ Unkle Phunk" Williams born and raised in Baton Rouge, La August 3, 1970. At age 8, Phunk stared learning the trumpet at Southern University Laboratory School. Age 13 he stared DJing at house parties. Then at age 17 he signed a recording contract at an indie record company in Jackson,MS where Phunk was label mates with Bobby Rush, Ricky White, JT Watkins, The Canton Spirituals. He was doing Dance/EDM music in the mid 80's early 90's. During that time Phunk/Prep was traveling back and forth from Jackson, MS to Memphis, TN. That's where he met Lester Snell (J. Blackfoot), William Brown (Barkays, Al Greene, ZZ Top), & Willie "Pop" Mitchell (Al Green, Lynn White, OV Wright). That where he got mentored and was schooled on soul/funk music. Phunk later moved back to Baton Rouge where he met up with his cousin Stephanie McDee (Steppin Out For The Weekend, Pony Slide), that's where he was re-introduced in southern soul music. Phunk moved to Dallas, TX and where the hit song Do The Ratchet by Boosie Badazz and Mr. Mandigo. few years passed then he met up with manager 3 Feet and Hurricane Chris ( 3 Platinum A Bay Bay, Handclap) and took the world by storm. Now "Unkle Phunk" has gone back to his roots doing southern soul music, and formed the compinies, Unkle Phunk's Juke Joint, Full Of Soul Music, & House Of Phunk Music, LLC..
