About this concert
Olivia's World is proud to present their debut full-length album 'Greedy & gorgeous', the band's third release following their two EPs 'Olivia's World' (2019) and 'Tuff 2B Tender' (2021). In 'Greedy & gorgeous', a quasi-concept album about desire, Olivia's World inhabitants deal with the woes of pleasure-seeking and a never-ending quest for beauty.
Join Olivia's World across April & May 2025 as they debut their new LP songs across their first proper East Coast Australian tour.
They are joined in Kamberri/Canberra by local legends Vanishing Sound and Dog Name. Local art connoisseur The Bureacat & friends will then be spinning the best vintage psych and rock grooves straight from their record trove.
Rooted in escapist reality, Olivia's World is a Brisbane via Vancouver via Canberra slacker rock project, now based in Sydney, Australia. Formed in 2017 during a two-year minimum wage sabbatical in Canada's West Coast, Olivia’s World came to fruition after a last-ditch effort for a drummer resulted in the recruitment of frontwoman Alice Rezende’s longtime musical hero–indie pop legend Rose Melberg.
Based in Australia since 2019, Olivia’s World is a conduit for collaboration and has included a rotating roster of musicians. Original members Alice Rezende (Go Violets, Tempura Nights) and Joe Saxby (These Guy, Big Bad Echo) are now joined by Jordan Rodger (TV Colours, Wives, Soft Toy) and Daan Steffens (Spouse, At Last Broadcast).
While 'Greedy & gorgeous' fits snug into the greater Aussie scene–with clear nods, as Canberran music critic Aaron Crowe puts it, to “dolewave pop”–, there’s no denying Olivia’s World’s ability to break the mold. The project still honours their life-long love of vintage twee, all the while charting through their own journey in the fractured squabble of the modern music landscape.

Olivia's World Biography
Before Alice Rezende would dream in comic strips about a girl’s make-believe getaway, Olivia’s World was already a real place. Part homage to the imaginary world under her own bed growing up, Rezende’s Sydney-based indie pop project is rooted in escapist reality. Formed during a two-year minimum wage sabbatical in Vancouver, British Columbia, Olivia’s World came to fruition after a last-ditch effort for a drummer resulted in the recruitment of Rezende’s longtime musical hero - indie pop legend Rose Melberg (Tiger Trap, The Softies, Knife Pleats). Needless to say, dreams became reality and in late 2019, the band released their bright and buoyant self-titled debut via Lost Sound Tapes. Influenced by a scrappy DIY ethos and the innate wonderment of all things twee, the group emits a sense of playful fascination through dazzling melodies, doe-eyed harmonies and bright and punchy songwriting.
