Asheville Jazz Orchestra

The Asheville Jazz Orchestra is thrilled to announce it has received a grant from The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina to present a one-of-a-kind concert featuring original big band works composed by members of the ensemble! Join us on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at 7:30 PM at the DFR Lounge in Brevard, NC, for an unforgettable evening of fresh, homegrown big-band jazz. The program will spotlight compositions by Harry Jacobson, Wendy Jones, Jason Slaughter, Michael Jefry Stevens, Frank Southecorvo, and Dave Wilken. This exciting concert supports AJO’s mission to preserve and advance the big band jazz tradition through performance, education, and original composition.
