Dream Prescription

Dream Prescription is a New York City band that draws on post-punk, new wave and synthpop to forge a unique electronic rock sound. Formed as a duo in 2020, Dream Prescription took bold steps forward in their sound and vision in 2023-2024 as they expanded their live act to a full band, and their subsequent shows have been met with enthusiastic responses. The band has released two EPs and numerous singles, and has played at many well-respected NYC venues such as The Bowery Electric, Berlin Under A, TV Eye and more. Dream Prescription is led by vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Tim Robert, whose career has included writing for and performing in rock theater and producing and DJing electronic dance music. Robert made stirs in the international EDM scene, being called “one of the USA’s brightest stars” by Release Promo DJ Pool and appearing at the prestigious Amsterdam Dance Event festival. Robert has enlisted several creative collaborators for the Dream Prescription project, beginning with synthesist Kent Friedman. Prior to Dream Prescription, Robert and Friedman played several DJ gigs together and collaborated on dance music remixes. The band’s live lineup now includes bassist/vocalist David Leatherwood, drummer Adam Fischel and keyboardist/vocalist Brittany Anjou. Robert explains the project’s mission: “I want to write songs that are accessible but countercultural and wrestle with questions of what I want and what I dream of, and the challenges I face in making my desires a reality. I’m hopeful that the realization of those songs with my collaborators will result in a compelling rock/electronic hybrid style that will give our fans a feeling of catharsis.” Why doesn’t the real world live up to the world of dreams?
