Halfway Biography
"Halfway have always seemed to operate in their own space within the Australian music industry. They tick both the Americana/alt-country box as accurately as they slot into the world of indie rock. On Rain Lover they’ve combined those sonic qualities and more, blending them seamlessly into their own brand of heartwarming and heartbreaking melancholic rock"
Halfway formed in 2000 in Brisbane, Australia.
They have released 6 critically acclaimed albums.
"Farewell to the Fainthearted" - 2004, Produced & Engineered and mixed by Wayne Connolly & Halfway
"Remember the River" - 2006 Produced by Rob Younger, Engineered & mixed by Wayne Connolly
"An Outpost of Promise" - 2010 Produced by Robert Forster, Engineered & mixed by Wayne Connolly
"Any Old Love" - 2014 Produced by Robert Forster with co production from Peter Jesperson & John Willsteed
Engineered & mixed by Phil Graham
"The Golden Halfway Record" - 2016 Recorded & mixed by Mark Nevers
"Rain Lover" - 2018 Recorded by Yanto Browning. Mixed by Mark Nevers. Produced by Halfway & Mark Nevers.
In 2008 key writers John Busby & Chris Dale won the Grant McLennan Memorial Fellowship. Arguably Australia’s most prestigious songwriting award.
They have played shows with musical luminaries, You Am I, The Black Keys, J Mascis, Sloan, Band of Horses and The Jayhawks.
There is no end in sight.
