About this concert
Stéphane Galland & The Rhythm Hunters is an adventurous project that brings together rhythmic traditions from around the world into a dynamic and personal musical language. A continuation of Galland’s previous project The Mystery of Kem, this ensemble explores complex rhythmic structures and transforms them into fluid, expressive compositions. Led by drummer and composer Stéphane Galland, the core group features international talents, including Shoko Igarashi (tenor sax), Sylvain Debaisieux (alto sax), Pierre-Antoine Savoyat (trumpet), Wajdi Riahi (piano), and Louise van den Heuvel (electric bass). The extended lineup adds further depth with musicians like Robin Eubanks (trombone) and Bo Van der Werf (baritone sax). Their debut album, released on April 26 via Challenge Records, is a thrilling exploration of rhythm, blending diverse influences into a vibrant and immersive soundscape.

Stéphane Galland & The Rhythm Hunters Biography
The Rhythm Hunters was born to transmit Stéphane Gallands musical journey with other musicians. The goal is to integrate rhythmic principles from his travels to different parts of the world into a personal musical language.
The Rhythm Hunters is a sequel to Stéphane’s previous project “(the mystery of) Kem“.
The objective is to explore different approaches to rhythm, that seem unusual and complex at first and to integrate them into a fluid musical discourse. This process requires extensive collective work, so that the whole group becomes familiar with these new rhythmic concepts and challenges.
