The Crypt Biography

One of 2024’s standout albums was the self-titled debut from Stockholm-based The Crypt. With their blend of doom and classic heavy metal, the band gained critical and fan acclaim worldwide. Penned by Leif Edling of Candlemass and produced by Marcus Jidell, the album topped charts at Sweden Rock magazine and appeared on international “album of the year” lists.

At the core of The Crypt is their dynamic vocalist, Pepper. Her commanding stage presence, influenced by her background in heavy metal and burlesque, has captivated audiences in Sweden and Germany. Backed by guitarist Dave McKenzie, drummer Danne McKenzie, keyboardist Floke, and bassist Rigor Mortimer, the band delivers a powerful live experience.

After their debut, The Crypt toured local gigs and festivals before returning to the studio. A collaboration with Leif Edling led to the theme song for the online game Rock Kommander, featuring guest vocals from Dee Snider of Twisted Sister. Pepper’s character also became central to the game, solidifying their growing presence.

In 2025, The Crypt continues to rise with self-penned songs produced by Marcus Jidell. Among them is “Where the Dead Don’t Sleep,” paired with artwork by Costin Chioreanu. A stripped-down acoustic version of fan-favorite “I Love the Darkness” will also be released in spring.

After a breakthrough year in 2024, 2025 sees The Crypt expanding their reach with new music, festivals, and captivating live shows.
