Kirsty Lee Akers Biography
Kirsty Lee Akers is one of Australia’s most distinctive and authentic recording artists, blending a rich cultural heritage with a passion for storytelling and music. A proud Wonnarua woman, Kirsty’s unique sound fuses the heart of classic country with a fresh, modern edge. Imagine the spirit of Dolly Parton, the charm of Kacey Musgraves, an extra dash of 90s country – that's the magic of Kirsty Lee Akers.
Her remarkable career is underscored by being the only artist in history to win three of Australian Country Music’s highest honors: Toyota Star Maker, Telstra Road to Discovery, and the prestigious Golden Guitar Award.
While Australia remains her spiritual home, Kirsty’s talent has taken her across the globe. She has toured the United States and Canada, performing at iconic festivals like the Calgary Stampede and Big Valley Jamboree. Kirsty also made her UK debut at the Buckle and Boots Festival, showcasing her music to new audiences.
Kirsty’s album Wild became a career-defining moment. The album soared to #1 on the ARIA Country Album chart, #11 across all genres, and earned her recognition as one of the youngest artists to be inducted into the Hands of Fame, alongside legends like Slim Dusty, Keith Urban, and Troy Cassar-Daley. Wild also claimed the title of ARIA’s 4th highest-selling country album for 2022.
Kirsty is set to release her seventh studio album in late 2025.
