Junkie Kid Biography
Born in Mexico, Junkie Kid is an artist whose musical journey spans across continents, genres, and decades. From an early age, he immersed himself in the world of dance music, influenced by legendary DJs like Mauro Picotto, DJ Quicksilver, and DJ Sammy. This inspiration sparked his passion for music, leading him to begin producing his own tracks at just 16 years old. Over the years, he explored various styles, including techno, trance, hardstyle, house, and Dutch house. But it was a breakthrough moment when he created "Perfect," a pioneering fusion of hardstyle, house, and dark melodies, giving birth to his signature genre – Neo-Hard House.
In 2013, Junkie's career took a major step forward when he signed his first EP, "Check This EP," with Audiophile Live Records in Los Angeles. The track "Claps Up" quickly gained traction, earning support from DJs around the world and setting the stage for his rise in the global electronic scene. This success led to collaborations with industry giants such as Sandro Silva ("Miraj") and Carnage ("Krakatoa"), as well as signing with top-tier labels like Spinnin' Records, Musica Freedom, and Mixmash Records. Junkie's music consistently topped Beatport charts, with multiple Top 10 hits and support from icons such as Tiësto, Hardwell, David Guetta, Afrojack, Nicky Romero, and more.
2014 marked a career milestone as Junkie Kid shared the stage with Carnage at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami, solidifying his position as a rising star in the EDM world. His success continued to soar, with a highly anticipated debut at Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) in 2017, followed by numerous performances at major festivals worldwide.
As an artist, Junkie’s sound has continually evolved, with recent tracks like "The Chant" and "Woops" making waves in the hard techno scene, earning a spot on 1001 Tracklists’ Top Tracks of 2024. Known for his bold approach to production and boundary-pushing sound, Junkie is poised to take the hard techno world by storm in 2025, with major collaborations with top artists and his highly anticipated debut at Tomorrowland 2025.
For Junkie Kid, the future is undeniably hard, and with an unwavering dedication to his craft, the next chapter of his career promises to be nothing short of legendary.
