About this concert
Okkervil River & The Antlers return in 2025, building on their acclaimed collaborative tour described as “playing old songs, new songs, each other’s songs.” These intimate performances will again blend the distinct artistry of Peter Silberman and Will Sheff, offering audiences a unique opportunity to experience both bands individually and together in a deeply personal setting. Silberman has noted that “Will’s music was incredibly formative for me—his songwriting is embedded deeply in my musical DNA.” Praised for their captivating collaborations, the pair previously earned acclaim for seamlessly interpreting each other’s work, creating unforgettable evenings of mutual creativity and shared inspiration. Join Okkervil River & The Antlersin 2025 for another series of unforgettable musical conversations. More on Okkervil River: Over the course of his career, Will Sheff has released ten albums that have given the front man of esteemed indie rock band Okkervil River a reputation as one of the greatest working songwriters in the country. As Sheff and his shifting lineup of players have traveled the world many times over, they’ve made fans ranging from Lou Reed to Barack Obama. Praised as “One of indie rock’s most ambitious thinkers” (Pitchfork), Sheff released his debut solo album ‘Nothing Special’ in 2022 to critical acclaim from The New Yorker, NPR, Uncut, Pitchfork, and more... with The New York Times saying it “Harnesses both the glow of poetry and the gravity of hymns.” More on The Antlers: The Antlers are Peter Silberman and Michael Lerner. In 2021, the band released their first album in seven years titled Green to Gold, a bucolic record which Pitchfork described as “a post-rock orchestra playing around a campfire... the sound of hard-won peace of mind, rendered in the lightest brushstrokes.” The release was followed by the Losing Light EP, a reimagining of four tracks from Green to Gold. Peter Silberman has also co-produced the recent Wild Pink album ILYSM, marking Silberman’s first foray into producing a record for another artist outside of the context of The Antlers or his solo work. Since 2021, The Antlers have been releasing stand-alone singles “I Was Not There,” “Ahimsa” and a Brett Arnold reworking of “Green to Gold.”

Okkervil River Biography

After nine critically acclaimed albums, after twenty bandmates, after countless bars and clubs and theaters and festivals, after two full decades, Will Sheff is letting Okkervil River drift out to sea with Nothing Special, a rich and cinematic collection that marks the acclaimed indie songwriter’s first release under his own name. Written through a period of painful loss and deep transformation and recorded with a mix of old friends and new collaborators (including singer/songwriter Christian Lee Hutson, Dawes drummer Griffin Goldsmith, and Death Cab For Cutie pianist Zac Rae), the record represents more than just a change in name; it’s a n act of liberation and self-determination, an emotionally raw reckoning with grief, identity, and hope that blurs the lines between fiction and autobiography, surrealism and humor, stoicism and a deepening spirituality.

Formed in Austin, TX, Okkervil River embraced both frenetic rock and cerebral complexity as bandmates came and went over its twenty year run, but the group’s north star always remained firmly fixed in Sheff’s emotional vocals and striking lyrics, which could turn even the most seemingly mundane observations into profound philosophical revelations. NPR hailed the New Hampshire native’s “dazzling” way with words, while Pitchfork declared him “one of indie rock’s most ambitious thinkers,” and The New York Times raved that he “writes like a novelist.”

With Nothing Special , Sheff begins his next and most compelling chapter yet.
